  • Design Lab started working with RBC in 1997 when we launched and managed the Investor Relations website. Shortly thereafter we launched the RBC Insurance website, and many other business units across the bank engaged us for print, online and technical work.
  • As a preferred vendor, we have completed over 200 projects for RBC ranging from strategy and research to print, online, direct mail to technical implementations of content management systems. We have also won many awards for our work.
INVESTOR RELATIONS
  • The first business unit Design Lab (then MGT Communications) worked with when we became a preferred vendor in 1997, we built and managed the Investor Relations website.
  • Responsible for releasing earnings and other important information in a timely and accurate fashion - we had to have processes and security protocols in place. This ensured the integrity and safeguarding of RBC's information prior to its release to the public domain.
  • Our 2002 online annual report (RBC's first interactive report) helped the bank win the award for "Best Investor Relations Website."
INSURANCE
  • In 1999 we began working with RBC Insurance and constructed their first online presence.
  • Through the course of the next 7 years, Design Lab helped the site grow from a basic online brochure to include many online tools. Examples include quotes and e-tools, branding, and integrating US companies acquired by RBC. We also helped to launch RBC's Enterprise Wide Content Management System.
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
  • Working with the Corporate Communications team, Design Lab undertook many projects both internal and external.
  • Known for being easy to work with and having a process that ensures all the details are accounted for, we helped produce the Interest Magazine - RBC's employee publication. The publication went to 80,000 stakeholders, became more cost and time effective and made a bigger impact on the target audience.
CORPORATE HR
  • Design Lab was engaged to help win over a tough audience - MBA students - and demonstrate to them that RBC offered many great job opportunities.
  • We did the research and then created a national, integrated campaign that attracted a 50% higher number of respondents than anticipated - making it a successful project we worked on for many years.
RISK MANAGEMENT
  • Selling to risk managers is no easy task, especially when it comes to Risk Management products.
  • RBC engaged Design Lab to create an integrated campaign that offered great benefits, but was technically very complicated with its many features.
  • We designed an effective campaign that engaged risk managers and highlighted in a simple and clear manner the benefits of RBC's powerful suite of risk management tools.
